Repeat after me: "Doing a facemark does not constitute a self-care routine." Now we've addressed the Manuka honey elephant in the room, we can move on to what does. There's a whole lot of grown-upping in this blog, and no part of that is more important than taking proper care of yourself. Today, we're all wise enough to know self care is self love, taking time to make sure your own needs are met is an equally vital part of adult life.
Sadly, short perhaps of skincare and exercise, no subject is written about so widely as self-care. If you ask me self care is about doing what makes you feel good, and acknowledging that putting yourself first isn't always selfish, but an important part of your existence on this little planet.
LIGHT A CANDLE
Go get yourself a nice scented candle, light it up with nice calm jazz music in the background. What a total Zen!
DO YOGA OR OTHER EXERCISE
No one can argue with this one; its literally science. if you can't hack the spirituality bits of yoga, there's something here for you. Remember, this is for self-care, and keep you mind, body and soul align.
ENJOY YOUR OWN COMPANY
Stay in or travel and go trying new restaurants, watch new movie on the cinema by your own. A way to discover yourself, your true sense of self.
WRITE A BOOK/LEARN AN INSTRUMENT
Keep a journal, and learn new things everyday.
